Insanity is an advanced workout geared toward the already fit individual. But I would be as bold to say that anyone that is currently doing anything fitness related can absolutely try any of the Insanity workout programs!
Shaun T. He is probably my favorite Beacbody trainer! Coming from a track background, he is obviously a rubber. He also loves music and choreographed hip hop dance.
But more on that in another post! Then volume 2 shortly after. Asylum incorporates the ladder and a jump rope for a more sports-geared type of workout. Currently, im on my second to last week of completing Insanity. I had done some of the videos here and there, but never the entire program like now! The individual exercises are fantasticly geared towards the entire body. I prefer this versus how some Beachbody workouts give you a stretch at the beginning.
Stretching after your muscles are already warm feels better in my opinion. Even for me, I consider myself an athlete.
But this program really revs up your metabolism like no other! After four weeks of doing the same 4 workouts, just when I felt like I was getting burned out and coincidently I rolled my ankle at a race brings recovery week. But I listened to Shaun T and I followed the calendar how it was set out.
Anytime you do something repetitively I believe each time it gets easier. You just have to move past the pain and get there! Insanity Asylum is a 30 day program and comes with an agility ladder, a jump rope and two small bands. I did this program several times as well as Volume 2. Let me run through the program first!
There are a lot of intimidating reviews out there about Asylum, mine included. All of those things and more, but if you are an Insanity graduate, you can do Insanity Asylum, and you should go for it!
Now let me give you my opinion on which you should do first, this is my opinion, and only mine. Or if you are in great cardio conditioning. If you are just starting out on your fitness journey, consider Power 90 , I lost 30 lbs with this one!
One more thing… I have heard a lot of feedback from people that have done Insanity once, and sometimes twice, but were hesitant to start Asylum. If this is you, and you are reading this. Shut down the negative, focus on the positive, and push yourself to the next level, and Asylum will take you there! And you will be so glad you took the trip! Are you ready for game day?
You have to perform at some point. Here are 5 significant differences between the two programs:. How about improving your balance, agility, power, strength, and coordination?
Jump higher. Run faster. The Speed Rope will torch those calories and the Agility Ladder will help you to become quicker on your feet while also measuring your progress. Hint: you can have carbs this time around!
Depending on your goals, you can add weights, resistance bands, and a chin-up bar to your moves. I am in the final week of Insanity. Do you have suggestions for a recovery week before getting going again? You can choose the Insanity recovery week, or mic it up that works good for you. Only you know what you need to recover. Congrats on finishing Insanity!!
Hello, I will be finishing insanity once, at end of august. I am thinking should i do it all over once again another round of two months or do insanity asylum? I am 33 yr old female, quite fit but plan to get more fit!
I think you would be happy with Asylum , I love it personally! Shadi, I always encourage creativity and variety. The most important parts of a fitness program, is that its fun and effective. RevAbs and Asylum will work nicely. I just started Asylum yesterday because, like Robert, I enjoy variety! Very impressive. Have you considered the beachbody home business. Have a look at our business page. Which I believe is only in the Vertical Plyo video.
When it comes time for double jumps, I just drop the rope and use my pretend rope. Or is Asylum enough? I mean does Asylum lack anything the original Insanity had? But Beachbody also provides a workout calendar that uses both Asylum and Insanity, which is cool too. In my opinion, you should order a couple extra bands, they tend to tear easily if you are working hard on each workout.
Hey Robert I was thinking to start insanity the asylum without doing the normal Insanity im pretty fit and all but will doing asylum alone get me a better body define my abs more etc? Moris, Both Insanity and Insanity Asylum are physically demanding.
Take breaks as needed, be safe, and watch your heart rate. I offer some free bands when you buy at my store. So the main difference when it come to Insanity vs Asylum is basically the added equipment you use in Asylum and the length of the program. You already graduated! I think the big thing that stands out when it comes to Insanity vs Asylum is the length of the program.
I could agree with that. I have done multiple rounds of both Insanity and Asylum and Asylum is definitely more taxing on your body. After 30 days you are truly spent.
I also feel that Asylum has a higher learning curve. I did the moves but imitated the use of a jump rope to get the timing down. It took some time to getting used to but I eventually got the hang of it and can jump rope without a problem now. Also getting the coordination moves down in the agility ladder took some time to getting used to. But in the end you truly became an elite athlete with Asylum. When people compare Insanity vs Asylum one question that always comes up is whether they can start Asylum without doing Insanity first.
Technically the answer is yes. If you have a good fitness base or are an athlete of some sort than you can start with Asylum. But if you are just starting out I would recommend you start with Insanity first to build a good fitness base and get some of the moves down. Insanity vs Asylum are very similar but Asylum is definitely a more advanced program and you should take this into consideration.
When you think Insanity vs Asylum and which one to do first I think it comes down to the individual. You know your body best and what program is best for you. The Asylum workout by Shaun T is a little more advanced than Insanity.
Insanity is a very hard program and I still get my butt kicked each time I do an Insanity workout.
