How long is peter mueller out

Did Peter Mueller give up and sulk his way through the end of his term with the Phoenix Coyotes? We may never know for sure, but the optics of the situation are not good for him. He only managed to suit up for 32 games in the season after missing the entire NHL season with post-concussion syndrome. He was again suffering from post-concussion symptoms and was shut down for the remainder of the season.

In light of his injury history the Colorado Avalanche decided it was time to move on from Mueller and let him walk as an unrestricted free agent. The lockout shortened NHL season gave him a chance to recover and he was able to sign a one year contract with the Florida Panthers. However he still disappointed in terms of his offensive production contributing at a 0. After the season Mueller and the Panthers could not come to terms on a contract. While not many details have come out about the negotiation, it is assumed that Mueller wanted too much money and term for Florida with his concussion history being taken into consideration.

Here's an optimistic sign: Mueller isn't as fearful of hard checks anymore. He's even learned to reposition his body in a way to better absorb the blows. I'm looking to get right back into the play. Things have been great so far.

The only real obstacle has been his conditioning. He still needs a few more games to get his hockey legs back. Not that his teammates have noticed any rust. He still resembles the player the Avs acquired in a deal that sent Wojtek Wolski to Phoenix in March To see him have a night like this, it's awesome for him. Mueller added his second goal of the night with a laser of a slap shot in the third period.

Later, he nearly completed the hat trick as fans littered the ice with hats after believing Mueller, not Stastny, had tapped in the tying goal. I think it was something special for him. What a night to cap it off. But with the bad, there is also some good news. Mueller is still on the road trip with the team and has been skating, so the cause of his absence isn't severe enough to keep him off the ice altogether.

He is currently listed as day-to-day on the injury report. Joakim Lindstrom, who was signed by the Avs in the offseason after he led the Swedish Elite League in scoring last season, has two goals in two games in relief of Mueller and has played very well. The Avalanche are notoriously silent when it comes to disclosing injures, so Mueller really could be out for any number of reasons which may or may not be concussion related.

He entered the Avalanche organIzation amongst disquiet trepidation; "who is this 88 and does his jersey number suggest he is twice the man that was The Baron"? None could be certain where he would take us, yet Ferris gladly adorned the heavy mantle of the Burgundy and Blue, stepped onto the Zamboni smoothed battlefield of ice and paint, and promptly pummeled the opposition to the tune of 20 points in 15 games, before falling to Sir Blake of Dickville is a grotesque display of douche-baggery.

Alas, Mueller rose again! From the ashes, like the Phoenix, Peter the Great II returned to distinction with a new, thicker helmet for his thin China-plastic skull! But lo, the new device was not comfy, and so Muller forsook it and entered the fray anyway.

Regrettably, in that wanton and meaningless preseason game that was miserly untelevised by the insatiable King Kroenke , Peter, son of Mueller, was taken out somehow, somewhere, in some unseen "collision".

He was taken before his time, before his prime, and his legacy shall forever be enshrined in the oft-echoed Pepsi center lament of "ah shit, not again". He was so young You're with the angels now Petey, where no Rob Blake can hurt you. May you soar as high as your pure white angel wings may take you.

Your fragile noodle is safe again. The Colorado Avalanche preseason started off with a bang however minor or major we don't yet know to the head of Peter Mueller.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the recently re-signed third year player prior to his second concussion in as many games. Many fantasy previews listed Mueller as a potential sleeper and poised for a break out season. But all of that is moot for now, as the 22 year-old is out indefinitely, for the third time in his brief career. Whether he came back too soon, was wearing the wrong helmet, or should retire, are pretty pointless discussions until Mueller sues the Avs for negligence, or vice-a-versa.
